Join Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia and make a difference in the community and the fight against hunger!

Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia partners with over 298 nonprofit agencies to serve Georgia’s 21 coastal counties. Our agencies provide food assistance, hot meals, and groceries for hundreds of thousands of individuals in coastal Georgia – and we are very thankful for their compassion and dedication to serving our community.

How it works

In the last year, Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia’s partner agencies provided more than 13.9 million meals to those in need! We call these nonprofits our “partner agencies” because we partner together with them to get food to those in need in the fight against hunger in coastal Georgia.

Second Harvest provides food and non-food items to over 298 partner agencies and programs. These programs include food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters and other non-profit and faith based organizations including children’s after school programs, senior programs and rehabilitation programs. The Food Bank also offers critical support to partner agencies in the form of educational workshops on a variety of topics including nutrition, grant writing, safe food handling, and advocacy outreach.

Working with Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia to stock their shelves allows community hunger relief programs to stretch their dollars, providing more food to more people in need. Second Harvest distributes USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) commodities and GNAP (Georgia Nutrition Assistance Program) food, fresh produce, dairy, and bread products to our member agencies. Second Harvest also purchases food and receives donated product which partner agencies can order from our shopping list.

We sincerely thank our current partner agencies for their phenomenal effort in serving the ever-increasing number of people in need of food in our communities. In order to reach these food insecure people, we welcome new partners interested in working together for hunger relief.
