Partner Agencies
Second Harvest provides food to over 300 partner agencies from the very small to the very large. Some operate soup kitchens or
food pantries. Others include shelters, human service organizations and nonprofit organizations that serve meals or distribute
food packages. Food is also made available to organizations that serve disaster relief sites. They all count on Second Harvest
as a reliable source of dry food like pasta and cereal, canned foods, fresh or frozen meats and produce, even sundries like
paper towels and cleaning supplies.
Nonprofit agencies and churches that feed hungry people are encouraged to apply for membership with Second Harvest. Partner agencies must be an established nonprofit or church with a substantial program for distributing food packages or serving meals to the ill, infants, or needy. Agencies must also meet health standards for storing and handling the food received. Second Harvest’s staff visits each organization to help them learn and apply appropriate, cost-effective methods for safe food service handling and distribution. If your organization has a feeding program and is interested in becoming a partner of the food bank, please call 912.236.6750 or click here for an agency application. CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP In order to be considered for membership, an organization must have 501 (c) 3 tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service or be an established church body (as defined by the IRS) and must meet the following criteria:
