Summer Feeding Program 2010
America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia has been a leader in initiatives to reduce childhood hunger since it established Kids Cafe in 1989. Summer feeding is essential to ensuring proper nutrition for children at-risk for hunger since they do not have access to free or reduced-price school lunches when school is out of session. This summer, 70% of school-age children in Chatham County and more than 57% of school-age children in Bulloch County are at-risk for hunger. Second Harvest is pleased to announce our sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Agriculture funded Summer Food Service Program.
